Founder & President

Minister Sophfronia, a native South Carolinian, accepted Christ in her life at an early age but became fully committed at the age of 23 under the ministry of Rev. Dr. Shelton Murphy of the United Student Fellowship (USF) on the campus of North Carolina State University where she obtained a Master of Science degree in Mathematics/Statistics. It was at that time that she began to develop an intimate relationship with God, a serving heart toward others and a passion for small group fellowships.

Seeds that were deposited in her life at an early age and during her tutelage at USF began to spring forth when the first ladies fellowship was held at her home in 1996 in Frederick, MD. From that momentous meeting, she began to develop a heart of compassion for women and a desire to minister to women. Hence in 2003, Women of Purpose Fellowship Ministries was birthed and incorporated in the state of Georgia. Unknowingly, Sophfronia was answering her call into ministry. She was later officially ordained as a minister on April 29, 2012 under the leadership of Pastor Marian D. McCoy who is the overseer of My Father’s Heart Ministry in Columbus, Ohio.

Minister Sophfronia first love is for the Fellowship, however she is very active in the Christian Women Investment Association of Atlanta in which she co-founded in 2001 and faithfully attends Church of the Redeemer where Pastor Dale O’Shields is the pastor. As a trained software engineer, she worked dutifully with one aerospace engineering company for over 22 years. Sophfronia is currently seeking to expand her career as she pursues her own business and furthers her education. She is currently working on a Doctorate in Business Administration at Walden University.

In her free time, Minister Sophfronia loves traveling, reading, participating in activities to stay physically fit and most importantly spending quality time with family and friends. She has several items still on her bucket list such as marriage, pursuing a degree in biblical studies and becoming a financial coach. But more importantly, her future desire is to stay open to God to be used by Him as he chooses for further ministry. She stands on the scripture "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13.
